Soya Masala Beans

Ingredients

  • 3 cups Soya beans
  • 2-3 Cloves
  • 2 Onions, chopped
  • 1/4 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1 Tomato, chopped
  • 4 tbsp Thick coconut milk
  • Ginger, chopped
  • 2-3 tbsp Refined soyabean oil
  • 1 tsp Garlic paste
  • 4 cups Water
  • 1 1/2 tbsp Chilli powder
  • A few Curry leaves
  • 2 tbsp Coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder

How to Prepare

In a pressure cooker, add washed soya beans, turmeric powder and 4 cups of water. Cook well. After one whistle, turn off the flame and keep aside.

Heat oil in a pan. Add onions and sauté till light golden. Add tomato and ginger, fry for 3 minutes.

Add garlic, cloves, cinnamon. Mix well and fry for 2 minutes.

Add chilli and coriander powder. Mix well with a little water.

Add cooked and drained soya beans. Add 1/4 cup water, cover and cook for 3 minutes. Add curry leaves.

Stir well. Add coconut milk after the gravy thickens. Serve hot with chapati.
